Mayday golf tournament helps homeless children
The fifth annual Lake Wylie/Clover Mayday Project Charity Golf Tournament Oct. 12 at River Hills Country Club drew 84 golfers, 65 sponsors, 70 donors and 25 volunteers.
Money goes to Clover and York school districts for transportation, school supplies, clothing and personal hygiene items for homeless children and their families.

Mayday also supports in the Clover School District back pack program and supports college tours at Winthrop University and York Tech for homeless children. Monetary donations are made to Children’s Attention Home, Tenderhearts, Early Learning Partnership and RideAbility.
A scholarship will be given Dec. 31 for a Clover school graduate to York Tech.
Next year’s tournament will be Oct. 10.
There is a six-member volunteer board of directors and an additional six-member volunteer golf committee. Donations may be sent to Lake Wylie/Clover Mayday Project, P.O. Box 5123, Lake Wylie, SC 29710. For more information, call 803-631-3776.
