Clover’s Clark wins region cross-country meet
Clover Blue Eagle Ben Clark won the Oct. 22 Region 3-AAAA meet at Northwestern High School with a time of 16:16.74.
Clark said his strategy going into the region meet was to pace himself for much of the race and make his move down the final stretch.
The Blue Eagles’ Will White finished 10th at the region meet with a 17:17.31 clocking. Yusei Kikuta finished at No. 15 with a time of 17:39.19.
The Clover boys’ team finished third in the cross-country competition, with Rock Hill claiming the region title for the third consecutive year.
Clover’s Jesse DeFalco finished third in the girls’ region event at 20:01.11. The CHS girls’ finished fifth as a team.
CHS boys’ basketball tryouts set
Clover High School ninth grade boys’ basketball tryouts will be 3:30 to 5 p.m. Nov. 9-10.
Any ninth-grader interested in participating should have a physical form on file and return the tryout information sheet to the main office by Nov. 6.
Current football players in 10th to 12th grades can try out for the basketball team Nov. 9-10, during the freshman tryouts.
Carolina Revolution tryouts Nov. 21
Carolina Revolution will hold open baseball tryouts Nov. 21 for spring season.
All players will be considered with a decision onsite after tryouts. If selected for the team, the deposit must be paid immediately to secure a spot in several events in the spring. Bring a general game schedule (season start/finish dates) for middle school baseball players.
Conditioning program runs December-January with indoor practice starting in February.
Carolina Revolution will travel to ESPN World Wide of sports in summer 2016 to compete against teams from around the country and world.
