Lake Wylie Christian Assembly designated collection site
Lake Wylie Christian Assembly, 5766 Charlotte Highway, is designated as a collection site for Operation Christmas Child.
Shoeboxes filled with toys like a doll or soccer ball, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement will be accepted through Nov. 23.
“Through the simple act of filling a shoebox, someone in Clover can make a tangible difference in the life of a child halfway around the world. Anyone can participate and bring joy to a child facing difficult circumstances,” said Regional Director Keith Burney.
Hours are 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 18; 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-7 p.m. Nov. 19; 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Nov. 20; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 21; 1-5 p.m. Nov. 22; and 9-11 a.m. Nov. 23.

Bill Graham Library hosting Christmas event
Billy Graham Library will hold the following events:
▪ 6:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 20: Ladies Night Out with a preview of the annual Christmas at the Library at the Billy Graham Library. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and be among the first to see the library’s Christmas decorations and hear an encouraging message from Kendra Graham, wife of evangelist Will Graham. ▪ Billy Graham Library is partnering with the North Carolina Museum of History in Raleigh, N.C., for a special exhibit – “North Carolina’s Favorite Son: Billy Graham and His Remarkable Journey of Faith” – Nov. 6-July 10. Through interactive displays, multimedia and never-before-seen memorabilia, visitors can retrace Billy Graham’s steps through history and discover his faith and leadership at work during the Cold War, the battle against segregation, and through unprecedented partnerships with churches around the world.
St. Paul UMC plans oyster stew
St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1550 St. Paul Church Road, Clover, will have an oyster stew from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Nov. 21.
It will include oyster stew, vegetable soup, hot dogs, desserts and drinks.

Author invited o lead worship service
Author Patrice Gaines lead the 10 a.m. Nov. 22 worship service at Allison Creek Presbyterian, 5780 Allison Creek Road.
Her autobiography “Laughing in the Dark” details her journey from life as a heroin user and abused woman to become an award-winning journalist and mother. She also is author of “Moments of Grace,” which outlines her path to change.
Gaines was a reporter for the Washington Post for 16 years and a member of a reporting team that was a finalist for the Pulitzer. She has won the National Association of Black Journalists first place award for commentary and Best News Story Award from The Associated Press, Chesapeake Chapter. She has been a commentator for National Public Radio, appeared on “Oprah Winfrey Show” and was featured in a segment of “Dateline NBC.”

Bible study new member class Dec. 2
