Letter: Iran Deal: Ignorance and naiveté or treason?

When confronted by a known enemy with a rogue leader who encourages and promotes large demonstrations of burning U.S. and Israeli flags while crying “Death to Israel” and “Death to the U.S.” can you or should you “make a deal” with them? When you know the expressed goal of a nation is to destroy you and your top ally, with what position should you go into a negotiation?

When Senator Rick Santorum was in office, he saw the threat of Iran and got bipartisan support to put strict sanctions on Iran keeping them in “check.” However, has this President and negotiation teams now given Iran a clear pathway to nuclear arms? Congress was given a chance to review this deal and vote on it, but the Senate, used the old “filibuster” ploy to block a vote.

Majorities in Congress, on a bipartisan basis have stated the following are the minimum requirements to block a pathway to nuclear weapons for Iran:

1. “Inspectors must be permitted unimpeded access to suspect sites.” The current deal allows for 24-day delays, the inspectors are “managed” by Iranians and not given unfettered visits. Iran only has “voluntary” adherence to protocol, is given authority to veto inspectors, and only allow inspectors they want to inspect them. (This sounds suspect to me, and it should to you.)

2. “Iran must fully explain prior weaponization efforts.” “The truth is ‘Iran has a troubling, consistent history of lying and cheating to advance its nuclear program.’” and there are no clear contingencies or consequences iterated to ensure that Iran is complying. There’s no mechanism for enforcement.

3. “Sanctions relief must commence only after Iran complies with its commitments over time.” The current deal provides immediate relief, relinquishing leverage on Iran in economic and allows them to obtain other weapons of war and the giving of $150 billion dollars to a rogue, terrorist supporting nation,

If this is not “aiding and abetting your enemies,” I’m not sure what else is? (Are we now funding terrorism?) The U.S. has a massive trillion-dollar+ deficit. Where is that money coming from? Our taxes and we are giving to our enemy? Is anyone else concerned about this?

4. “Iran’s nuclear weapons quest must be blocked for decades” (this deal provides no true enforcement to an untrustworthy regime gives them all the money they need to do with what they want and releases all sanctions in 8-15 years allowing them to go full speed ahead unimpeded in their quest to destroy the U.S. and Israel. (Quotes obtained from American Israel Public Affairs Committee reports, www.aipac.org)

What concerns me most is the apparent apathy of many of us here in America. The current administration has given us the smallest military capacity and done much to demoralize our beloved military men. This is in light of a Mideast gone volatile with ISIS, Syria, and now Russia under Putin’s leadership. Our President is calling for 200,000 refugees from Syria coming to the U.S. without any means to determine if we are opening our front gate to ISIS terrorists or other terrorists. Our southern border is unprotected from infiltration of drug cartel and terrorist. We have sanctuary cities harboring many criminals and an unwillingness to allow the rule of law there for those who keep returning after being deported. (Kate’s Law) And yet are we contacting our Congressmen, President and demonstrating our concerns?

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” (Edmund Burke) Perhaps we feel powerless and do nothing. However, this is a nation of “We the People” so the buck stops with us. Please call your Congressional Representatives and ask them to defund the Iran Deal until the above criteria are met. If we do nothing the blood of millions will be on our heads
