All Saints Knights Council awarded
The Knights of Columbus recognized All Saints Council No. 14475 as a 3-Star Award Council during a presentation Nov. 10 at the church.
The award places it in the top 2 percent of more than 16,000 councils around the world. Knights of Columbus is an international fraternal order of Catholic men, with nearly 1.9 million members in 16 countries, and it is founded upon the principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism.
To achieve 3-Star status, the All Saints Council completed all service programs – community service, church support, family programs, youth activities, Pro-Life advocacy and council fraternal projects –and it recruited 300 percent of it recruitment goal.
Grand Knight Rick Engel said the local council is collecting money for Clover Special Olympics kids, serving meals at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, holding monthly food drives for Clover Area Assistance Center and raising money to purchase new winter coats for children.

York church plans Craftacular Nov. 25
Lifeway Church, 114 S. Congress St., will host the second annual Craftacular 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 25.

Bible study new member class Dec. 2
Community Bible Study will hold a new member class 9:30-11:30 a.m. Dec. 2 at River Hills Community Church.
This study is an interdenominational, in-depth Bible study and not church affiliated.
The study of Revelation begins Dec. 9. Cost is $25 for adults, and $10 for children and includes the lesson book.

Service for those grieving Dec. 5
River Hills Community Church, 104 Hamilton’s Ferry Road, is holding A Quiet Christmas service at 5 p.m. Dec. 5 for anyone struggling with grief and loss.
This service offers a new framework to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

Temple hosting Chanukah Extravaganza
Temple Kol Ami is throwing a Chanukah Extravaganza 4-6 p.m., followed by a brisket dinner and menorah lighting, Dec. 12 at 303 Tom Hall St.
There will be children’s crafts stations, face painting, photo booth, artists bazaar, games and latkes. This is free and open to the public.
Following the games and crafts, dinner is served with a menorah lighting 6-7 p.m. This is free for Temple members or $10 for non-members.

The Community Cafe offers free weekly lunches 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Tuesdays at Lake Wylie Christian Assembly.
The Cafe at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church in Fort Mill serves lunch 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. Fridays.

Young Life of York County is at work with teens in the community, providing leaders to help them make wise decisions.
Young Life is a Christian ministry committed to making an impact on kids’ lives and giving them hope for tomorrow. Founded in 1941, Young Life leaders build positive relationships with young people to model and communicate the truth about Jesus Christ. Young Life reaches suburban, urban and multicultural kids, as well as kids with disabilities and teenage mothers.
Faith-based support for LGBT community available
Affirmation of York County is a newly-formed support group for people in faith communities who seek support and understanding for themselves and others in working through the issues confronted by gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people, their families and their friends.
