Michele McGuire, president of the Tega Cay Women’s Club and Sue Hapner, chairman of the club’s garage sale event, presented a check for $1,400 to the Fort Mill Care center to help the facility build a storage building and/or pay for shelving in the food pantry.

The contribution is from the proceeds of their second annual garage sale at the Tega Cay Fall Festival.

“Our hope was to raise $800 for the shelves,” McGuire said.

“But the sale exceeded our expectations. The ladies of the club were so generous in donating goods to be sold and the public turned out to support us. We also donated unsold household goods to the drive for flood victims in Columbia, strollers to a women’s shelter and other items to the Humane Society thrift shop, Pawsibilities.”
