Business briefs: Lake Wylie business earns regional award
Lake Wylie business earns regional award
For the third year in a row, RBC Utilities Inc., a Lake Wylie-based business, has been named one of the fastest growing private businesses in the greater Charlotte region. The utility contracting business has received a FAST 50 Award, sponsored by the Charlotte Business Journal.
The company installs water, sanitary sewer and storm drain utilities in residential and commercial projects in the Carolinas. Lake Wylie residents Bill and Rose Cummings own RBC Utilities, which had a revenue growth of 74.23 percent for three years. The company is ranked 16 out of 50.
“The building industry in the greater Charlotte region is getting stronger each year. Our employees strive to perform quality work while staying within budget and meeting deadlines. We are growing along with our customers,” said Bill Cummings.
Companies are ranked by a formula that reflects dollar and percentage growth during the past three years. They also must be based in the 16-county Charlotte region: Alexander, Anson, Cabarrus, Catawba, Chester, Chesterfield, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lancaster, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, Union and York. Accounting firm CliftonLarsonAllen evaluated the nominations to determine the rankings.
