Update: Tega Cay man charged with sex assaults on child, teen
A Tega Cay man is under arrest after an alleged sex crime against a young girl on Jan. 6, police said Monday.
Radu Stoica, 41, of 7206 Cascading Pines Drive, was arrested and charged with first-degree assault and battery, first-degree burglary and third-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor, according to police records. He is being held at Moss Justice Center in York.
According to police reports and arrest warrants, Stoica hosted neighbors for dinner and drinks the evening of Jan. 6. Stoica joined those neighbors at their home at about 11 p.m. When the father at that home went outside to let a dog out, his 7-year-old daughter went upstairs to get dressed for bed, the documents state.
Reports state the daughter tried to close her bedroom door to change into pajamas but was unable, as Stoica allegedly placed his food in the doorway. The girl went to bed without changing her clothes. Stoica then allegedly sat on the bed and attempted to “movie kiss” the girl, according to reports.
The girl told police Stoica placed his hand between her legs.
Police also said that hours later, after the alleged attack on the 7 year-old, Stoica is also accused of forcing his way into a home and fondling a 17-year-old woman. In that case, he was charged with assault and battery and burglary.
A bond amount had not been set at press time Monday.
