Stolen truck recovered by Tega Cay police

Tega Cay police recovered a stolen vehicle following a routine traffic stop Jan. 9.

According to reports, an officer saw a black 2015 Ford F-150 he suspected of speeding on S.C. 160 W. near Stonecrest Boulevard a little before midnight. The truck was reported stolen from Burlington, N.C. Two men were arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, and a dog in the truck was taken into custody by animal control.

Both the driver, 21-year-old Qudarius Dashon Murphy, and a passenger, 24-year-old Fredrick Tiquan-Oriell Sellers, are Charlotte residents. The men were arrested and transported to the Fort Mill Police Department to await a bond hearing.
