Allen Tate names Lake Wylie branch leader

Allen Tate Co. has named Mike Smith as branch leader of the Lake Wylie office at 1000 Village Harbor Drive.

In his new role, Smith will oversee branch operations and manage and train more than 30 Allen Tate agents and staff.

Smith joined Allen Tate Company in 2012 as a Realtor in the Fort Mill office, working as a team with \wife Lynn. In 2013, Smith was named Rookie of the Year and in 2014, he was named Most Valuable Player and earned the company’s Master Circle designation for sales performance.

He began his real estate career after a decade as senior director of athletics and coach at Presbyterian College in Clinton. Smith also completed a 23-year military career, retiring as a lieutenant colonel in the Army, where he served in positions of leadership and command in the U.S., Europe, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and business administration from Presbyterian College and a master’s of business administration degree from Webster University in Columbia.

Smith volunteers for Habitat for Humanity, is an elder at his church, and is a fitness mentor and coach.

Smith and his wife live in Fort Mill. He enjoys hiking, running, biking, golf and fishing.

Queen’s Feast week served Jan. 22-31

The semi-annual Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week will Jan. 22-31, featuring a record 133 restaurants in the metro Charlotte area offering prix fixe menus of three courses or more at dinner for $30 or $35 per person (not including tax and gratuity).

The January promotion includes restaurants in eight counties – Mecklenburg, Gaston, Lincoln, Catawba, Iredell, Cabarrus, Union and York.

This winter’s Queen’s Feast features 15 first-time restaurant participants, including: Corkbuzz Restaurant & Wine Bar in SouthPark; CO Pan Asian Cuisine and ROCKSALT, both in Park Road Shopping Center; BLOCK Bistro in Huntersville; JP Charlotte at the Westin in uptown Charlotte; Union Street Bistro in Concord; Pearlz Oyster Bar in Ballantyne; and Lily’s Italian Bistro in Gastonia.

Family Trust names managers

Three managers have been announced for branches at Family Trust Federal Credit Union.

Josh Nyegaard of Rock Hill has been promoted to manager of the branch in York on Old York Road. Nyegaard previously was assistant manager at branches on Dave Lyle Boulevard and Ebenezer Road. He has 16 years of experience in the financial industry.

Beth Bergstrom of Rock Hill will serve as assistant manager for the branch on Dave Lyle Boulevard. She joined Family Trust in 2014 as a lending consultant and has 15 years credit union experience.

Sarah Hobbs of Clover has been promoted to assistant manager of the branch on Ebenezer Road. She attended the University of South Carolina-Upstate and graduated in 2015 from York Technical College with an associate’s degree in general business management.
