Filing for Fort Mill Council seat opens Jan. 29
Filing for the open Fort Mill Town Council seat will open at noon Jan. 29, according to a proposed timeline from the York County Voting and Elections Office.
Candidates for the at-large seat will have until noon Feb. 8 to file and the election would be held April 5, according to the timeline.
The seat became available when then Councilwoman Guynn Savage was sworn in as mayor earlier this month. Town residents who are 18 years or older and registered to vote are eligible to file. Candidates need to file in person at the election office in the E. C. Black Building, 13 S. Congress St., York and pay a filing fee.
Statement of Intention of Candidacy forms can be downloaded from the S.C. State Election Commission’s website at scvotes.org/candidate_information. Statement of Economic Interest and Campaign Disclosure Forms must be submitted online with the S.C. Ethics Commission at http://ethics.sc.go.
