York County chamber meeting Feb. 11

The York County Regional Chamber of Commerce will host its annual meeting and awards program Feb. 11 at Events at Manchester.

The event will include a business program featuring remarks from the organization’s leadership and a review of the chamber’s 2015 accomplishments and 2016 goals. Several awards will be presented to business and community leaders.

Lake Wylie photographer earns master’s degree

Linda Packard of Linda Packard Photography has earned the master of photography degree from Professional Photographers of America, presented by PPA president Michael Timmons at the annual convention, Imaging USA, in January in Atlanta.

The master of photography degree shows photographers have met the standards of excellence set by PPA. Packard was recognized for superior photographic competence demonstrated through photographic competition, advanced education and service to the profession.

For each of the last three years, 2013-2015, Linda Packard Photography has been awarded PPA’s Silver Photographer of the Year for excellence in imaging. She specializes in capturing family life - maternity, newborn, children, senior high school students and families. In addition, she also loves to capture women of all ages in her Glamour portraits series.

Art exhibit open in chamber office

The art of Roy Lindsay is on exhibit at the Montcross Area Chamber office, 100 N. Main St.

“Four Seasons" can be seen 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday through April 1. This is the second exhibit shown in the Chamber Gallery.

Lindsay is a graduate of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and has received multiple distinguished alumni awards from his alma mater. He has a wide range of art expressions working in mixed media and with found objects. His paintings, sculptures and mixed media express his experiences with life. His studio, “Creations by Roy Lindsay,” is at 170 W. Franklin Boulevard, Gastonia. For more information, call 704-678-7224.
