Police: Witnesses said Fort Mill man fired gun during argument

Police are investigating a complaint that a man fired a gun in the air during an argument, according to a Fort Mill police report.

Police responded March 14 to a call on Smith Street, where witnesses told them the 24 year-old suspect had fired a gun after an argument with one of his sisters that was related to “a previous incident involving him and his ex-girlfriend,” the report states. The witnesses told police the man fired the gun in the air after one of the people involved tried to pull him away from the person he was arguing with, then left the scene in a car before police arrived.

All of the witnesses interviewed told police they didn’t actually see the gun and the officers who responded said they did not find a shell casing, according to the report.

The case remains under investigation.
