Close call: Funnel cloud sighted

A rare sight caught residents by surprise last Thursday evening when a funnel-shaped cloud appeared in the Fort Mill area. Sightings came in from Indian Land to Tega Cay. Stormy weather created perfect conditions for tornadoes to form, weather experts said. Fortunately, this cloud, which shows clear evidence of rotating updraft, did not touch down.
