Moe’s grill, SportClips coming to Lake Wylie
Three new businesses are signed on for Shoppes at the Landing, with more to come.
Wylie Commons has broken ground on a building that will include a Moe’s Southwest Grill, SportClips and TK Nails Spa & Waxing.
“We’re building a multi-tenant retail building that’s about 9,000 square feet,” said Tom Auer with SVN Percival Partners. “We’re looking for two other tenants to stabilize that project and fill out the area.”
The project sits between S.C. 49 and Nautical Drive, at the intersections with Bulkhead Way. Moe’s will sit on the left side, facing the project, with an outdoor patio area. The opposite end is almost 1,400 square feet with its own patio. It likely will serve a “coffee, restaurant, deli” type use, Auer said.
More than 1,800 square feet beside Moe’s make up the rest of the available space. It could be a larger business, or subdivided into smaller ones.
Wylie Commons should be complete by Aug. 1. Then tenant-specific upfits will follow before the first businesses open. The almost 1.5-acre site will have 62 parking spaces.
“It should be open no later than Oct. 1, if not sooner,” Auer said.
Auer said several companies and developers are looking at the Lake Wylie area, given the economy and local demographics. The recent opening of Publix makes Shoppes at the Landing a hot area.
“That drives a lot more traffic to that development,” Auer said.
Other developments nearby are planned or in early stages of development, including Morningstar Storage and Lake Wylie Pediatric Dentistry.
“The market is bringing a lot of activity to Lake Wylie right now,” Auer said. “You’ll probably continue to see new development.”
