Oakridge Middle soccer team conference champs
Oakridge Middle School Golden Eagles soccer team won the conference tournament championship April 27, completing a perfect 15-0 season by defeating Springfield, 5-0.
Scoring early for Oakridge Middle was Cameron Malcolm on a long ball from Mitch Clark at the 5 minute mark.
Brandon Malcolm and Ethan Stevenson netted the next two goals, assisted by Stevenson and Jackson Coleman, respectively, to make the score 3-0 at the half.
The second half started strong with Ethan Stevenson netting another goal on an assist from Brandon Malcolm. The scoring was closed on a goal by Christian Erwin, whose outstanding season in goal was rewarded with field play. The final score was 5-0.
Leading defensively were Casey Carpenter and Logan Anderson. Anderson played with intensity, marking the Mustangs’ best player. Dawson Malcolm dominated the middle defensively, setting the tone offensively. Jackson Coleman remained the steady QB of the team as he has all season.
