Team takes second win in weekly fishing trail on Lake Wylie

Good weather draws more teams to Thursday Night Tournament Trail on June 9.

“Wow, what an awesome evening to fish or do anything outdoors,” said trail co-organizer Erwin Gaston. “The weather could not have been better for a fishing tournament on Lake Wylie.”

Tim Chapman and Marcus Leech beat the field of 50 teams with five bass weighing 17.79 pounds. They also brought in the big fish of the night at 5.45 pounds. The duo also won the May 5 tournament with 16.26 pounds and big fish of that night at 5.58.

Second place went to husband-wife team Josh and Tracy Warren with 14.65 pounds.

The weekly tournament runs through Aug. 25, with launch and weigh-in at Buster Boyd Access Area. The championship is Sept. 2-3.
