Mulvaney to speak July 26 at Lake Wylie Rotary meeting

U.S. Rep. Mick Mulvaney, R-S.C. 5th District, will speak at the July 26 Lake Wylie Rotary Club meeting at Good Samaritan United Methodist Church, 5220 Crowders Cove Road.

Mulvaney earned a degree in in international economics, commerce and finance from Georgetown University where he was an Honor Scholar, the highest award given to students of the Georgetown School of Foreign Service. He attended law school at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a full academic scholarship, and he completed his formal education at Harvard Business School’s OPM program in 2006.

He started a law firm and home building company and ran the family real estate business. He was a minority shareholder in a restaurant franchise company and owned and operated his own restaurant.

He has held his Congressional seat since 2011, representing the 11-county district, which stretches from the North Carolina border to Sumter County. He will face Fran Person, a Tega Cay Democrat, in the Nov. 8 general election.

The club meets at noon Tuesdays Lake Wylie across from Food Lion.
