Angler hooks second win on Lake Wylie
Hot July nights working for Lake Wylie angler on Thursday Night Tournament Trail.
“We don't want to rush July away to quickly, and I think Travis Young would like it to hang around a little longer also. This is his second win this month, and he is looking for more,” said event co-organizer Erwin Gaston.
Young and Neil Sheehan weighed in five bass at 13.81 pounds for first place in a field of 40 teams, followed by a close second place finish of 13.51 pounds by Mike Stephens and Chris Carnes. Last week, Carnes fished with Young.
The big fish of the night tipped the scale at 5.76 pounds by Stephens and Carnes.
The weekly tournament runs through Aug. 25, with launch and weigh-ins at Buster Boyd Access Area. The championship is Sept. 2-3.
