I am writing this letter concerning the public park possibility. I am 16 years old. I have lived just outside Lake Wylie for the majority of my life, and I attend Clover High School. I personally think that a public park would benefit the community in so many ways. When I was little, my mom used to take me to this little playground when my sister was in school. This was just your average playground with swings and a slide. Everyday my mom and I ate our lunch at one of the picnic tables beside the playground. I can still describe this table down to the last detail, from its bright yellow color to the corner with chipped off paint. This yellow picnic table may seem insignificant to anyone else, but to me it holds some of my best childhood memories. I want the kids in this community to have a place like this, a place where they can safely make memories and just enjoy being a kid.
A park doesn’t just have to serve as a place for kids to make memories, people of all ages could come and enjoy the outdoors. For example, as a teenager I know that we are always looking for something to do. A park could serve as a soccer field, a place to hammock, or even just a quiet place to study and do homework.
Home can become a bit chaotic and distracting, so what better place to get some piece and quiet than a community park? I truly believe that people of all ages would utilize this area and benefit immensely from it. Thank you for your consideration, I know so many people would love to see this addition to the community.
