Father-son team wins again at Lake Wylie fishing tournament

Father-son team win again at Thursday Night Tournament Trail against 31 teams.

Russ and David Winters took home the win for the second time in two weeks.

“On these dog days of summer when the fishing is very tough, Russ and David are able to scratch out five bass that weighed in at 10.38 pounds,” said trail organizer Erwin Gaston.

Second place went to Andy Beechly and Larry Rai with 9.58 pounds.

Big fish award went to the team of Travis Young and Neil Sheehan with a 4.16-pounder.

The weekly tournament runs through Aug. 25, with launch and weigh-ins at Buster Boyd Access Area. The championship is Sept. 2-3.

Trail sponsors are Academy Sports, Kangaroo Express, Sparks Grading and Koyote Fishing Tackle.
