Random act of kindness marks 1st week of school
Abbie Grace Stackley, who just started second grade at Orchard Park Elementary School this week, had more than just her classroom supplies and lunch in her backpack.
The little girl who also happens to be the reigning Little Miss Fort Mill and a model for Greenville-based children's clothing company Eldin Jay, showed up with breakfast and a thank you note for school security guard Derrick Crawford.
“Eldin Jay promotes monthly random acts of kindness each month and this month it’s giving back to men and women in uniform,” mom Ashlee Stackley explained.
“I told this to Abbie Grace and she said, ‘mommy, I want to bring breakfast to our new officer because his job is to keep us safe at school.”
It was apt timing too. This is the first year that Fort Mill schools like OPES, which are not near a campus served by Fort Mill or Tega Cay police-supplied school resource officers, are now protected by a private security firm.
Sounds like Abbie Grace learned some good lessons even before the new school year began.
