The Nation Ford Falcons cross country runners fell to Rock Hill during their home meet at the Anne Springs Close Greenway.

The girls lost 22-35 and the boys, 24-31. One bright spot for the Nation Ford girls was Katie Pou winning the race for the Falcons in a time of 20:27. However, Rock Hill runners came in spots two through four, as well as sixth and seventh, to take the overall win.

Nation Ford’s Anna Hardymon finished fifth overall and was the second Falcons runner to cross the finish line, in 22:31. Addy Rogers was eighth in 23:05 and Abby Audette and Olivia Kuebler finished 10th and 11th, respectively, to round out the scoring for the Falcons’ girls. Audette’s time was 24:18, followed by Kuebler in 25:05.

In the boys’ race, Rock Hill took the first three positions, with Nation Ford’s Thomas Windell finishing fourth in 18:20. Anthony Frattaroli was 13 seconds behind him in fifth with Malcolm McClain coming in sixth in 18:38. Ryan Wood finished seventh for Nation Ford in 18:53 and Ben Carlson finished ninth overall in 19:05 to end the scoring for the Falcons.

Nation Ford has just one more meet at the Greenway – a head-to-head match-up against Fort Mill Oct. 4, in which the Jackets will be hosting the meet.

The Oct. 4 meet sets up Nation Ford for the York County Meet Oct. 13 and then the Region IV-5A meet the week afterward.
