Tega Cay begins defense of Metrolina Swim title with 2 wins

The Tega Cay Breakers opened its Metrolina Swim League title defense with back-to-back wins to get the season underway.

The team swam its first met against the Baxter Barracudas, getting a 262-146 win, and went on to beat The Landing 370-86 in its second.

Against Baxter, the Breakers won seven of the eight relays.

Individuals winning for Tega Cay during the meet, by age group, were:

Julia Cavanaugh in the girls’ 11-12 won the 50-meter freestyle and 50-meter backstroke.

Michelle Case in the girls’ 15-18 won the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter individual medley.

Joe Orehek in the boys’ 11-12 won the 50-meter backstroke and 100-meter IM.

Kylie Namowicz in the girls’ 13-14 won the 50-meter backstroke and 100-meter IM.

Emma Castello in the girls’ 6 and under won the 25-meter freestyle.

Kylie Bick in the girls’ 7-8 won the 25-meter freestyle.

Jacob Panov in the boys’ 11-12 won the 50-meter freestyle.

Elizabeth Crumly in the girls’ 13-14 won the 50-meter freestyle.

Chloe Brong in the girls’ 6 and under won the 25-meter backstroke.

Zoey Selby in the girls’ 7-8 won the 25-meter backstroke.

Jamisyn Carpenter in the girls’ 9-10 won the 25-meter backstroke.

Sam Cicciarello in the boys’ 9-10 won the 25-meter backstroke.

Owen Corkery in the boys’ 13-14 won the 50-meter backstroke.

Mason Strohl in the boys’ 15-18 won the 50-meter backstroke.

Kyndall Brown in the girls’ 10 and under won the 100-meter IM.

Aubrey Chandler in the girls’ 11-12 won the 100-meter IM.
