Nation Ford exits tennis playoffs
Despite being a higher seed, the Nation Ford Falcons tennis team lost to Riverside 5-1 in the first round of the AAAA state playoffs last week.
Three of the six matches went to three-set tie breakers. The only winner for Nation Ford was No. 4 singles player Raj Dwivedi, who won in three-sets 1-6, 6-2, 10-4.
No. 1 singles player Jonathan Habbick fell 6-2, 6-4 and No. 2 singles player Chase Mahrlig fell in straight sets as well 6-4, 6-2.
No. 3 singles player Banks Riegel fell 6-3, 6-4 in a close match, while No. 5 singles Alex Smith was forced into a third set tiebreaker, but fell 6-4, 1-6, 9-11.
In the only doubles match, Garrett May and Sanjeev Hassan also lost in a three-set tiebreaker falling 6-3, 2-6, 8-10.
Nation Ford ended its season with an 11-4 record.
