Barracudas swim to first wins in Charlotte league

The Baxter Barracudas made history this past week by winning its first two meets in the Greater Charlotte Swim League.

Baxter left the Metrolina Swim League after last season, leaving the Tega Cay Breakers as the only team from Fort Mill Township still competing in that league. The Barracudas are in Division III and will swim against teams such as Rama, Thornhill, Bridgehampton and Old Providence. There are six divisions in the Greater Charlotte Swim League with Division I being the strongest. Each division has between six and nine teams in it.

Baxter beat Rama 480.5-345.5 in its first meet, including winning 13 of the 20 relay events.

Keone Hollen – girls’ 9-10 25-meter freestyle, 25-meter butterfly and 10 and under 100-meter individual medley

Drew Fey – boys’ 11-12 50-meter freestyle, 100-meter individual medley and 50-meter butterfly

Ben Fenwick – boys’ 13-14 100-meter individual medley and 50-meter breaststroke

Reagan Michael – girls’ 6 and under 25-meter freestyle

Joaquin Hollen – boys’ 6 and under 25-meter freestyle

Dio DiMagno – boys’ 8 and under 25-meter freestyle

Owen Fey – boys’ 9-10 25-meter freestyle

Baxter also beat Thornhill 316 to 284 later in the week. Individuals winning for Baxter were:
