Struggles continue for Springfield swim team

Swimming in a new division in the Greater Charlotte Swim League hasn’t proved as lucrative as in years past for the Springfield Greenwave.

The Greenwave has fallen to 0-2 on the season after losing recently to the Reserve 510.5-335.5.

Against the Reserve, Springfield winners were:

Ryan Williams – boys’ 15-18 50-meter backstroke, 100-meter individual medley and 50-meter breaststroke

Emily Eaton – girls’ 9-10 25-meter freestyle and 10 and under 100-meter individual medley

Alex Eaton – boys’ 8 and under 25-meter freestyle and 25-meter butterfly

Jessie Whyte – girls’ 13-14 50-meter freestyle and 50-meter backstroke

Summer Rayne Whtye – girls’ 8 and under 25-meter freestyle

Reed Richardson – boys’ 9-10 25-meter freestyle

James Jones – boys’ 8 and under 25-meter backstroke

Gabe Schmitz – boys’ 8 and under 25-meter breaststroke

Cecilia Fenbert – girls’ 9-10 25-meter breaststroke

Springfield also had a meet against Weddington Chase last week, but scoring issues delayed final results being ready by press time.
