Springfield wraps up swim season with 7th place finish
The Springfield Greenwave wrapped up the summer swim season with a seventh place finish in the Greater Charlotte Swim League Division II All-Star meet.
Springfield scored 1,145.5 points, missing out on sixth place by just six points behind the Sardis swim team. The Reserve won the All-Star meet with 1,545.5 points.
Springfield won two relay events in the All-Star meet in the 15-18 200-yard boys’ freestyle and medley relay. On the medley and freestyle relay team were Ryan Williams, Sam Fitzgerald, Isaiah Fitzgerald and Tyler Mingonet.
Individuals winning in the All-Star event for Springfield were:
Ryan Williams – boys’ 15-18 50-yard backstroke and 100-yard individual medley
Sam Fitzgerald – boys’ 15-18 50-yard breaststroke
Lucas Grigat – boys’ 11-12 50-yard breaststroke
Earlier in the week, Springfield fell 461-385 to Sardis to close out the regular season. Individuals winning for Springfield in the event were:
Summer Rayne Whyte – girls’ 8 and under 25-meter freestyle, 25-meter backstroke and 25-meter butterfly
Reed Richardson – boys’ 9-10 25-meter freestyle, 25-meter backstroke and 25-meter butterfly
Evelyn Peters – girls’ 13-14 100-meter individual medley, 50-meter breaststroke and 50-meter butterfly
Lucas Grigat – boys’ 11-12 100-meter individual medley and 50-meter butterfly
Ryan Williams – boys’ 15-18 100-meter individual medley and 50-meter breaststroke
Alex Eaton – boys’ 8 and under 25-meter freestyle and 25-meter butterfly
Emily Eaton – girls’ 9-10 25-meter freestyle
James Jones – boys’ 8 and under 25-meter backstroke
Jessie Whyte – girls’ 13-14 50-meter backstroke
Kate Bodel – girls’ 8 and under 25-meter breaststroke
Gabe Schmitz – boys’ 8 and under 25-meter breaststroke
