Lady Jackets swim team win Upstate Invite; Nation Ford takes 2nd

A co-meet hosted by Fort Mill and Nation Ford high schools at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center, the inaugural Upstate Invite, attracted 14 teams and more than 370 swimmers.

The Fort Mill Lady Jackets team won with 207 points, while the boys’ team had a disqualification in the 500-free event that dropped the team to third. Nation Ford finished second in both the boys’ and girls’ standings.

Fort Dorchester won the boys’ event with 154 points. Nation Ford was second with 109 and Fort Mill third with 106.

The Fort Mill girls’ relay team won the 200-yard medley relay, 400-yard medley relay and the 200-yard free relay. Nation Ford won the boys’ 400-yard medley relay event.

Individuals winning for Fort Mill were:

Erynn Black- girls’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard backstroke

Ben Fenwick- boys’ 200-yard freestyle

Jenna Pehowski- girls’ 500-yard freestyle

Owen Corkery- boys’ 100-yard backstroke

Individuals winning for Nation Ford were:

Trent Cubine- boys’ 50-yard freestyle

Ryan Williams- boys’ 500-yard freestyle

Up next for Fort Mill is a three-way home meet against Rock Hill and Gaffney and Nation Ford travels to Rock Hill to face Northwestern in a dual meet.
