Jackets swim team undefeated in the pool

The Fort Mill swim team stayed undefeated in Region III as they swam to a victory against Clover in the team’s only meet of the week.

The Jackets will take on Nation Ford this week in a dual meet, which would wrap up the regular season for both teams.

Against Clover, the Fort Mill girls’ won 120-50 and the boys’ won 111-59. Fort Mill won five of the six relay races and had several individual winners.

Individual winners for Fort Mill were:

Erynn Black – girls’ 200-yard freestyle and girls’ 100-yard backstroke

Ben Fenwick – boys’ 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard butterfly

Aubrey Chandler – girls’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly

Kasparas Zilinskas – boys’ 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard freestyle

Jenna Pehowski – girls’ 500-yard freestyle

Banks Bullard – boys’ 500-yard freestyle

Owen Corkery – boys’ 100-yard backstroke

After the dual meet with Nation Ford, Fort Mill will swim in the Region III-AAAA championship meet at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center Oct. 3 and the 4A state championship meet Oct. 10 at the USC Natatorium in Columbia.
