Mill Town Showdown tickets on sale
Tickets for the Fort Mill-Nation Ford varsity football game Friday at Bob Jones Stadium will go on sale to the public Wednesday and Thursday 1-3 p.m. from the athletic office at Fort Mill High. Students can buy tickets Thursday and Friday during all lunch periods in the R-Wing and Main Commons.
Lady Jackets tennis continues to roll
The Fort Mill Lady Jackets tennis team continues to roll and is now 13-1 on the season after wins over Nation Ford and Clover last week.
Fort Mill beat Nation Ford 5-1 with wins coming from Elizabeth Fitzgerald 6-2, 6-1; Rachael Brooks 6-3, 6-7, 1-0; Reagan Paff 6-1, 6-1; Ellie Prain 6-0, 6-1 and Jessica Brewer/Abigail Thibodeau in doubles 6-1, 6-2. Megan Gallagher got the lone win for Nation Ford 6-4, 6-0.
Against Clover, winning for Fort Mill was Fitzgerald 6-0, 6-2; Shreya Katti 7-5, 6-1; Paff 6-1, 6-3; Prain 6-1, 6-0; Brewer/Thibodeau 6-1, 6-2 and Fitzgerald/Brooks 8-1.
USTA event Oct. 11-18
The seventh annual Rock Hill Rocks Open professional women’s tennis tournament will be held Oct. 11-18 at the tennis center, 897 Maple Lane, Rock Hill. This is a $25,000 United States Tennis Association Pro Circuit event.
The matches feature women tennis players from around the world, some ranked within the top 150 competitors in singles and doubles. The players compete for prize money and ranking points. Outdoor hard-court matches are held during daylight hours and are open free for the public to watch.

Sign-ups are underway for the Rock Hill Rocks Open Adult Pro-Am that will be held 6:30-8 p.m. Oct. 12 at the Rock Hill Tennis Center. Cost is $50 per adult.
