Springfield earns 1st win in rain-shortened meet
The Springfield Greenwave ended the short summer swim season on a high note beating Weddington Chase in a rain-shortened meet 142-128.
Springfield and Weddington got to swim in 22 of the usual 70-event meet before rain washed out the remaining events. The Greenwave finished the season at 1-5. Next up is the Greater Charlotte Swim League All-Star meet July 11 at the Mecklenburg Aquatics Center at Charlotte Latin. That event will start at 6 p.m.
The Greenwave won five of the 10 relay events they participated in against Weddington Chase. Springfield won the girls’ eight and under 100-meter medley relay, the boys’ 9-10 100-meter medley relay, the girls’ 11-12 200-meter medley relay, the boys 11-12 200-meter medley relay and the girls’ 13-14 200-meter medley relay.

Banks Swanson – boys’ six and under 25-meter freestyle
Julia Pou – girls’ eight and under 25-meter freestyle
Austin Coleman – boys’ eight and under 25-meter freestyle
Emily Eaton – girls’ 9-10 25-meter freestyle
Alex Eaton – boys’ 9-10 25-mdter freestyle
Peri Raczynski – girls’ 11-12 50-meter freestyle
Tori Morgan – girls’ 13-14 50-meter freestyle
