Rock Hill police are investigating after a man robbed a pharmacy at gunpoint late Wednesday night.

The man walked into the CVS on Cherry Road around 11:30 p.m. and bought two packets of candy at the counter. While the clerk was bagging the items, the man pulled out a handgun from his waistband and demanded the clerk empty the register of all $1 and $5 dollar bills, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The man then fled the scene on foot carrying an undisclosed amount of cash.

K9 units were deployed to search for the subject, and video footage of the incident reviewed.

The suspect is described in the police report as wearing a gray jumpsuit and a black toboggan.
