Police: Alleged trespasser made vulgar, racist remarks during arrest in front of children
A Rock Hill man accused of trespassing at a woman’s home on Wednesday also was charged by police with public disorderly conduct after officers say he yelled obscene and racist remarks in front of children and bystanders.
Police were called to the home on Workman Street in Rock Hill around 4 p.m. when a woman saw the man sitting in a car in her driveway, according to an incident report. When officers arrived, the man got out of the car and ran to the back of the house, the report states.
Officers later identified the alleged trespasser as John Edward Christopher, Jr., age 50, records show. Christopher is accused of acting aggressive toward police during his arrest on Wednesday.
The arresting officers pushed Christopher to the ground and tackled him before handcuffing him, the report states. Christopher used “foul language,” according to the report, including making racial remarks toward the police officers.
Several bystanders and children heard the vulgar language, police say.
Christopher was charged with trespassing and public disorderly conduct, records state.
