Deputy shoots dog after bite on buttocks
A York County Sheriff’s Deputy shot a dog after it bit him on the buttocks, according to a report.
The deputy was at the home on Hensley Road in Fort Mill on Tuesday night, when a “large brindle canine” came towards the deputy, barking. The deputy ignored the dog, which then went behind him and bit him “on his left butt cheek,” the report stated.
When the deputy turned around, the dog was showing his teeth and growling and advanced towards him again, so the deputy fired his gun, hitting the dog in the right side, mid-back. The dog ran away, but came back when the owner called him, he came back.
The dog’s owner signed it over to Animal Control instead of treating it and Animal Control took possession of the dog.
The dog’s condition is not known.
