York woman cited after dog kills neighbor’s cat

A York woman was cited for possession of a dangerous animal and damage to property after her dog allegedly rushed into a woman’s mobile home, forced the woman and her family to hide in a bedroom, and killed a cat, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.

In a 911 call Thursday, the victim told deputies that the pit bull ran in through an open door, forcing her to hide in a bedroom with her children until help arrived. The cat was killed in the living room by the pit bull, the report states.

Because “tempers were high,” deputies placed all the parties involved on trespass notice.

York County animal control officers took the pit bull mix away.
