Masked thief smashes York County store window, steals cash registers
A brazen thief wearing a mask and gloves used a paver stone to smash a convenience store window and steal two cash registers containing almost $2,000, according to a police report.
In the theft Thursday around 4 a.m. at the River Stop store on Mount Gallant Road near Lake Wylie, a regular register and a register with lottery receipts were taken, the store manager told police. Deputies watched the surveillance video that showed a man wearing dark clothes and a mask run up to the door from the outside and smash the glass door with the paver. The suspect then rushed inside and grabbed the registers.
No arrests have been made.
