Eight teens charged with underage drinking in Rock Hill party, police say

Eight teenagers have been charged with underage drinking after a party, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.

At about 12:47 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to a noise violation at a home off Tenacity Court near Rock Hill, the report says.

Loud music was coming from the home, where deputies found a large crowd of juveniles in the back yard, the report states.

As deputies approached, the teenagers ran into the woods, the report says. Deputies stopped about 20 of them from leaving the scene.

Eight of the teenagers, ranging in age from 17 to 19 years old, either had alcohol on them or had consumed alcohol, the report says. Seven of the teenagers were cited for minor in possession of beer.

The home’s resident was cited for minor in possession of beer and violation of the county noise ordinance, the report states.
