Two men arrested after assault outside Rock Hill school

Two men were arrested Tuesday after they reportedly assaulted a woman outside a Rock Hill school. The incident prompted a lockdown.

A Rock Hill police officer reports he was outside the Children’s School on Sylvia Circle around 2:39 p.m. when he noticed a “commotion” in the line of cars outside the school waiting for children to get out of class.

The officer found two men standing outside the open passenger door of an SUV while the woman in the seat was punching and kicking at them. When the officer approached, the two men starting walking away toward a home on Syliva Circle.

Mark Bradley Douglas, 43, of Chester, was arrested walking away from the scene, while Qua Dre Santeses Strong, 25, of Rock Hill, was located inside the home. Both men were charged with assault and battery third degree as well as disturbing schools, according to the police report.

Several children had already left the school when the incident occurred. Students remaining in the school were placed on lockdown for about 30 minutes while the situation was resolved.

Officers collected photos of the woman’s injuries from the assault.
