5 bags of frozen shrimp found on Food Lion shoplifter

A Rock Hill man was arrested Tuesday after he was found with five bags of frozen shrimp stuffed in his pockets, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The manager of the Food Lion on Ebenezer Avenue said he saw a 55-year-old man shove $77 shrimp in his coat and exit the store without paying. A patrol car stopped the man after he pulled out of the parking lot and the officer noticed a bag of shrimp next to the man’s left leg when the officer opened the driver’s side door.

The store manager said he recognized the man from security footage of a previous incident two weeks earlier where he had shoplifted two other bags of frozen shrimp. The man also has two prior shoplifting convictions, and was driving with a suspended license.

He was arrested and the car towed from the scene.
