A York County Detention Center inmate faces additional charges after spitting in an officer’s face and threatening an officer, according to the York County Sheriff’s Office.

Kenneth Huffstetler of Hickory Grove, who is being held at the detention center on a $15,000 bond, is charged with throwing bodily fluids and threatening the life of a public employee, a report states.

Around 5:55 p.m. on May 27, Huffstetler, 39, was given medication and a pen to sign for the mediine.

Huffstetler then took the pen and held it to his neck, threatening to kill himself, the report says.

An officer grabbed Huffstetler’s arm, and both he and the officer fell to the floor, the report states. Huffstetler tried to hit the officer with his fist, the report says.

Huffstetler spit in another officer’s face, and told that officer he would “blow him up with grenades,” the report says.

Huffstetler is already in jail on charges of petit larceny, malicious injury to property and the use of a vehicle without permission, according to the detention center.
