Fort Mill area mobile phone store broken into and cash, cases stolen, police say
A mobile phone store near Fort Mill was broken into overnight, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.
Around 2:49 a.m. Monday, police responded to an alarm call at the Boost Mobile cell phone store off U.S. 21, the report states.
Officers found the glass broken on the front door and the front window shattered. The store’s manager reviewed security video, which showed two suspects approaching the store on foot and throwing a metal pipe cover at the door, the report says.
The video shows that the door did not break, and the suspects broke in through the window instead, the report states. Both suspects had their faces covered.
One suspect took about $150 in cash from the store’s register, while the other took phone cases and smart watches from the back room, the report says. Both suspects appeared to have left on foot.
The case remains under investigation. A complete description of the suspects was not available on the report.
