Clover man charged with kidnapping, drug trafficking, police say
A 36-year-old man is charged with kidnapping after threatening a woman and keeping her from leaving, according to a York Police Department report.
Jeremiah Charles Grigg, from Clover, also is charged with possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
At 5:40 a.m. on June 1, police responded to a home off Oklahoma Street in York in reference to a possible kidnapping, the report states.
A woman told police the suspect threatened to shoot her and, when she tried to leave, got into her car with her, the report says. The woman told police the suspect also tried to take her phone and demanded she give him a ride.
Police found digital scales and a large amount of a white crystal-like substance on the property, the report states. Police also found a gun under a parked car on the property, the report says.
Grigg is also charged with trafficking cocaine. He is in jail on a $65,000 bond.
