Woman hit, robbed outside York Wal-Mart, police say

A woman was robbed outside the Wal-Mart on East Liberty Street in York, police say.

Around 9:50 p.m. on June 4, officers responded to the Wal-Mart in reference to a robbery, a York police report states. The woman told police she was about to go into work when a man asked her for a cigarette, the report states.

The woman told police she reached into her car to give the suspect a cigarette and when she turned around, he hit her in the face with his fist, the report states. The woman told police the suspect slammed her into her car and said he had a knife, the report says.

The woman told police the suspect did not show a knife but threatened to kill her if she screamed, the report says. The woman told police the suspect searched her pockets and took $100 in cash before hitting her in the back with his fist and throwing her to the ground, the report says.

The case is under investigation.
