Police: Grandmother’s ashes stolen from York County home
The York County Sheriff’s Office investigated a robbery this week where a grandmother’s ashes were taken from a mobile home.
The victim told sheriff’s deputies someone broke into her mobile home on Louie Road, damaging her home and taking several items, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.
The report states someone poured syrup on the floor. They also threw shot glasses into the sink, breaking them.
A digital safe was taken, the report states. Among the items in the safe were birth certificates belong to the victim and her children, a gold 14-carat ring with a diamond center stone, a white gold princess ring and ashes belonging to the victim’s grandmother.
