More than $8K reported stolen from Rock Hill business in burglary, police say

McClatchy

More than $8,000 was stolen from a Rock Hill business between closing on Thursday and opening on Friday, according to a Rock Hill police report.

The incident happened at Saranac Management Group on Willowbrook Avenue, the report says.

Employees at Staffmark, the neighboring business, told officers they noticed the front glass doors of the lobby connecting the two businesses, as well as the front door of Saranac, were open.

Police reported tool marks on the doors of the lobby. Staffmark reported nothing was stolen from its office.

Saranac reported about $8,040 missing from two cash boxes in the office.

Staff members were reportedly running late the day before, and did not take deposits to the bank, the report says. Staff members reported seeing several pick-up trucks driving slowly through the area after close on Thursday.
