Police: Clover woman gave minors money to buy alcohol

A Clover mother was charged with four counts of contributing to the delinquency of minors Friday night after allegedly giving money to teens as young 14 for the alcohol, according to a York County Sheriff’s Office report.

The minors, who were ages 15 and 14, also told deputies they had smoked marijuana from a water pipe that was found and seized.

Crystal Violent Dunham, 41, denied involvement and claimed that the minors showed up at her home intoxicated but was arrested because the minors told officers that Dunham “provided the money to buy the alcohol and carried the action out,” according to the report. One of the minors was Dunham’s daughter, the report states.

In the incident, another child’s mother called deputies because she could not locate her daughter who was supposed to be staying at a friend’s house. The mother went looking for her daughter and found the minors intoxicated, the report states.

Officers went to Dunham’s home and all the minors tested positive on a machine for alcohol, the report states.
