Clover woman claims son stole credit card to buy gas for drug dealer

York County deputies are seeking a Clover man for allegedly stealing his mother’s credit card to buy gasoline for the son’s drug dealer, according to a police report.

The woman, 56, said that Monday morning her son, 30, whom she described as a “drug user,” was banging on her door demanding money to give to the drug dealer for gasoline for the dealer’s SUV, the report states. The woman said she had no money but the son stole a Visa card and and left with the drug dealer, according to police.

The woman jumped in her vehicle and followed the son and alleged dealer to a gas station in Clover, where she saw the son trying to buy gas with the card, but did not know the pin, the report states. The woman then confronted her son and the drug dealer, described as in his 50s and more than 300 pounds, and called police.

The son and his connection fled north on U.S. 321 toward Gastonia, N.C., the report states.

Police have arrest warrants against the son for financial card theft but has not yet been located.
