Driver in deadly head-on crash near York charged with reckless driving
The driver of a sport utility vehicle that caused a fatal head-on collision near York on March 14 has been charged with reckless driving, according to York police.
Angela Kim Privette, 50, of York was heading south on Alexander Love Highway when a GPS device fell off the windshield of her SUV, according to a York police report.
After Privette reached down to retrieve the GPS, her vehicle crossed over the yellow line and a turning lane, according to a crash report. The vehicle entered the northbound lane of Alexander Love Highway and struck another SUV driven by Shaneka M. Jenkins of Wellford.
Four days after the accident Devin McGraw, 3, a passenger in Privette’s car, died at Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte.
Three children in Jenkins’ SUV were injured.
Brooklyn Lindsay remains hospitalized at Levine Children’s Hospital. Jordan Jenkins, 12, and Hadden Fuller-Jenkins, the other children in Jenkins’ vehicle, have been released.
