Victim says love triangle leads to Rock Hill shooting
A Rock Hill man told police a dispute with his girlfriend’s ex-boyfriend led to a shooting on a street corner.
Police responded Tuesday night to reports of shots fired on the 300 block of Baker Street. At the time, the 28-year-old man on the scene was reportedly “uncooperative” and refused to give the officers any information about what had happened. But the next day, he decided to make a report.
He told officers he and his 22-year-old girlfriend were visiting friends on Baker Street when the woman’s 21-year-old ex-boyfriend approached them on the corner of Baker and Friedheim Road and fired several shots in the man’s direction. He was not injured by the shots.
The victim said the shooter is angry at him and his girlfriend over an issue involving the former couple’s children.
He was unable to identify the kind of weapon the disgruntled shooter used, and officers at the scene were unable to find any shell casings in the area. The incident remains under investigation.
